I can't believe how quickly time goes by, and how easily it is to become distracted.

The troubles that called us home have been resolved, and we earned a short holiday as a reward. We just returned and will be headed out on another mission in the next few days. I'll spare the details for now. It was a long flight home, and I'm in real danger of falling asleep at my desk.

Life at the temple continues on as normal. Still taking classes, Master's teaching a few classes as well as investigating the troubles that called us home. As wonderful as it is to be 'home,' I kind of miss being out in the field, and hopefully they will allow us to go back out before Master or I get too restless.

Well, Master and I have been back for a few days now. He's been with the Council for hours each day since we've been back in residence, and I started classes again with some of the other Masters. We've not really had a chance to speak since we've been back, so I'm not sure what's happening or why exactly we were recalled. I'm sure that I will find out as soon as he feels I need to know.

Apologies for not commenting much lately, though I have been reading a bit here and there as I've had time. I am in the process of getting caught up, however, as we're thankfully heading back to the Temple for the time being. It seems there are some troubles at the Temple and the Senate and they've recalled Qui-Gon as a precaution. The reprieve will be nice, I have to admit. Master's already got me scheduled for some regular classes with other Masters since it appears we will be in residence for some time. The Force Healing class should be useful, though I'm sure it'll be difficult (for me, at least). And I always look forward to getting to spend more time in a simulator. And of course, working with the initiates and being able to work in the gym is always something I enjoy.

Master and I had a nice long quiet chat last night. There were somethings that had been troubling me, and I'm glad I was able to speak of them, and that he'd respected my boundaries and not pushed through our bond to get at what was bothering me. Not that I ever think he would, but there are some Masters who don't give their Padawans that degree of privacy or space to work things out for themselves first. Though I could tell he was itching to ask, which I think means I need to spend some extra time working on shielding my thoughts again.

It didn't matter too much, though, because we were having similar thoughts after our last couple of missions. We've agreed not to do anything too quickly, though. **grins** And yes, I realize I'm being cryptic.

Well, that was a considerably longer break than I had planned.

It turns out that we were not able to forestall the civil war as intended, once the plot was discovered. I did find the individual responsible for the sabotage of the opposing side's crops. Unfortunately, as we were apprehending him, he was able to get the word out to an underground group, and it was not as easily contained as we'd have liked.

The group put together an uprising which led to a full scale civil war. Master and I were blamed for causing the civil war (which is only partially true) and imprisoned for a short time. In the course of the fighting, the temporary cell we were housed in was destroyed and we were able to escape.

Right into the midst of the fighting.

Master and I both sustained injuries as we fought ourselves clear and tried to get back to the center of the city and call for a cease-fire to get the talks back on line and end the fighting. It was nothing particularly major, and we did manage to make our way back to the Civic Center. The fighting continued for a few days until we (Master, mostly) were able to get them to stop fighting long enough for a meal and some talking about common goals. This probably would have lead to a cease-fire, had someone not decided to bomb the Civic Center in the middle of the talks.

I'm not sure how Master finally negotiated a cessation to the hostilities because I was seriously injured during the explosion, protecting a couple of delegates who were not able to take cover. I'm alright now, having spent a couple days in a bacta tank with Master keeping me amused during the confinement with various tales and jokes once I reached a level of consciousness that allowed us to communicate (I hate being in the bacta tanks and Master knows it and usually makes an effort to occupy me when he can. I know I should spend the time in meditation, but the gel dulls the senses and coping with sensory deprivation is not one of my strong points (which means you should practice more, I know), so I try to avoid the bacta when possible. But since we don't travel with Jedi healers, sometimes it's the only way).

I've been out of the tank for a few days now, Master neatly wrapped up the negotiations yesterday, and we'll be on our way to our next assignment tomorrow. The cease-fire is holding, the rebuilding and reparations have begun, and he even managed the original trade settlement we were asked here to resolve in the first place.

Things here are still proceeding slowly. We're making headway in both my investigation and the negotiations, but it's tedious going so far. Hopefully I'll have something solid in the next couple days for Master to take to the talks. And hopefully we'll avoid the brewing conflict between the colonies before they demand we take sides.

The current mission is not going well. However, the healers assure me I'll be back on my feet in a day or two. Thankfully. I dislike the idea of Master on his own, even knowing I'm in no fit condition to leave our suite (and that he's more than capable of looking after himself. Most of the time).

It's really not as bad as it sounds. I was able to detect and neutralize the poison before it could take effect (and before Master could ingest any himself), but Master and I decided it would be worth it to play up the rouse and use it to our advantage.

We're here to work out a set of trade agreements between two colonies. One of the sides is experiencing and unfortunate turn on many of their crops. We got word the other day that the crop-death is not natural and we'd begun investigating. Guess someone didn't like the idea of two Jedi poking around and severely underestimated us in their attempt to see us removed from the talks.

So while I'm 'out of commission' for a few days, Master will continue the talks and I'll be free to poke around undercover and see if I can get some answers. So far, it's working, and I think I have a few leads on who might be responsible, and what their motives are.

Well, that did bring up some interesting memories.

Master and I are being sent out again, first thing in the morning. It would have been nice to have a few more days at the Temple before leaving again, but it's the will of the Council and the Force that we take this mission. I don't have the details yet - Master is still meeting with the Council and just let me know to make the preparations. Thankfully our stores had already been replenished and our washing done, so we're nearly ready to leave again. I just need to double check our personal kits and make sure all the relevant information is uploaded for our review while we're in transit.

Master Mace will look after Fnerz, Master's kitten. I don't know why he insisted on keeping her when he knew she'd be spending more time with one of the other masters than with him. But then, perhaps that was his point. Master Mace does seem a bit less - closed off - after he's spent some time with her.

Anyway - I hope to still be in touch. It would be a shame to just get started in getting to know everyone here and have to be away for a long while. Still, it will just depend on where we're off to this time. I'm finding that this space could also possibly be quite useful as a place for me to just record my thoughts. The Order requires a personal log, but keeping stuff out of the official records could be quite nice. Master knows how to find me here, of course, and I wouldn't hide much from him. There are just some things that I think the Council doesn't need to know.

Oh, and I must remember to tell the creche-master that I won't be around to help with story time tomorrow.
